Welcome to my Medium blog! Every few weeks, I will post about the latest progress, project, or development in the world of artificial intelligence (AI). Artificial intelligence has transformed my life in so many ways. From the fundamental concepts of BERT, NLP, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), and logistic regression to the leveraging of AI with additional fields such as health, transportation, social media, and differential privacy, AI is becoming intricately involved in our everyday life.

Inspirit AI has given me an invaluable opportunity to have 1-on-1 conversations with instructors and students through workshops and office hours. This allows me to discuss AI questions and issues I am most interested in.

In the past few weeks, we have focused on key concepts such as CNNs, reinforcement learning, and explainable AI. My project group is focused on Self Driving Cars and the iterative process used by AI developers and engineers around the world to make driving safe and ethical. This process consists of an action (the possible actions a driver can take), which then changes the driving environment, giving the agent a state (the condition of the world our driver sees) and a reward (the reward that we get from a given state).

In the upcoming posts, you’ll learn about the different parts of this process, which include reinforcement learning, policies, neural networks, behavior cloning, and Q-Learning.

Lastly, to end this intro post, a little about myself: in addition to CS, I enjoy leadership and helping my community — this year I am Vice President of my school’s Student Council, leading our Philanthropy Project for a social justice cause and also working to increase environmental awareness. I am also part of my school’s math competition team and play club water polo.
